Swim Lessons (Ages 3-5 years old)
(Must Be required age at start date of class)

Pike (Beginner Level)
Children will develop safe pool behavior, adjust to the water, and develop independent movement in the water. The class is designed for new swimmers through teaching basic paddle stroke, kicking skills, pool safety, and breathing control.

Eel (Advanced Beginner Level)

Skills include kicking the length of the pool, rotary breathing, front crawl, elementary backstroke, and pool safety. Focus is placed on increasing independence.

Ray (Intermediate level)
Class is structured to increase swimmers endurance level. Swimmers work on swimming front crawl and elementary backstroke the length of the pool.

Starfish (Advanced level)

This class builds on the previous skills and strokes with the addition of back crawl and breaststroke. Focus is on endurance.

Aquatics Policies & Procedures

Credit / Refund Policy
If a program is cancelled by the YMCA for low enrollment, or any other reason, a full refund will be given. If you wish to discontinue participation in a program, a pro-rated credit toward another program will be given within the first 2 weeks of sessions. No refunds after the first 2 weeks.
Missed Class
There is no provision made regarding class makeup for children missing classes. This is so the students registered will have quality and consistency in their lessons.

Parents:
Parents are not permitted on deck during class; however, parents are encouraged to observe classes from our Observation area

Goals
Individuals participating in the YMCA swimming programs learn and develop their strokes, as well as many water safety techniques. Participants will have fun while developing the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
